Asian Bakery is a hidden gem that never fails to impress with its incredible food and warm service. Despite its unassuming, home-in-the wall appearance, the quality and flavor of the dishes are top-notch. Our office frequently orders and the selection always hits the mark. The nam chow, banh mi's, noodles, and papaya salad are consistently delicious and satisfying. Each dish is prepared with care, bursting with flavor and fresh ingredients. The service is friendly and efficient, making every visit pleasant, just remember to bring cash!
Tasty sandwiches with amazing value! I got the mixed bahn mi which had their regular ham and BBQ beef. ($7.50). The sandwich was much larger than I thought, it was probably almost a foot. The ham of nice flavor and so did the beef, which was tender. I really loved the sauce/aïoli they put in it and the bread was fantastic as well. It was 90° in RI the day I got it, but the sandwich almost had a cooling effect from the vegetables and nice sauce. Friendly staff and great prices. I gotta get their pad Thai soon!
Looking for a quick bite? Try this cash-only spot. They make tasty bánh mì sandwiches you can grab for lunch or take to a picnic. The bread they use is light, crispy, and chewy - really good! They have lots of filling options, but I love the BBQ Beef option. My other fav is the Pad Z Eiw Noodle with beef, the wonderful mix of flavors explode in your mouth. Definitely give them a try!
One of the hidden gems of Providence and one of the better banh mi's I've ever had in the US. Believe the hype. I always get the number 8 since you get the traditional toppings like pate, etc, but you also get their bbq pork which is really tasty too (tender and nicely marinated) for a little twist. The peanut sauce that they put on it really puts it over the edge. I also always throw in a vietnamese iced coffee which is made with robusta beans and condensed milk. Incredible value for all the food you can get here but its cash only. Love supporting the people who run this place and I always leave a nice tip to say thanks. I just love that they are bringing authentic deliciousness to the community, which seems to appreciate it too. Always an eclectic cast of characters in there brought together by the great cheap food, which you love to see.
Hole in the wall, cash only Vietnamese spot on Broad Street that's easy to overlook if you haven't heard the hype. Many say it's the best place to get a bahn mi in Providence, and after trying it I have to agree. It's pretty small, not the best place to dine in, but easy enough to stop by for takeout. Prices are great as well, as they often are at cash only restaurants. Definitely a place to try if you're looking for a delicious and cheap bahn mi!
Went AGAIN a few days ago, for a visit, I got the usual Tofu Bahn Mi, no mayo, making it vegan. It's SO GOOD. I also got a frozen bubble tea, it was coffee + mocha flavored. They were out of boba pearls that day but I was offered many different selections of add-ins & landed on brown sugar pearls. .... Drink was AMAZING!!!! Definitely the best drink I've tried there. My partner ordered the teriyaki chicken Bahn mi, & his usual Thai iced tea w/ half & half.... Goodness we love this place. He was also so happy w/his order! Service is awesome and welcoming like usual! I love coming here! Thank you as always! This place is family owned and you can tell they really care!
Great bahn mi sandwiches!! Lot of sauce and flavor. My top bahn mi spot in Providence. Family owned and you can tell it's a well-run business that's been in place for many years. Their pork buns are also great, really large and can easily be stored for lunches - but the person who does those is out on vacation right now :( Thai tea/bubble tea is not as great though - go somewhere else for that. Several inconveniences though including difficulty parking and cash only establishment.
Another great takeout from Asian Bakery. Hubby was in the mood for something really spicy so I ordered him the drunken noodles with chicken, extra extra spicy. WOAH! It was perfect for him, too spicy for me. I ordered my favorite, nim chow. As always, fresh & fabulous! Gotta get myself a banh mi the next time. The dude was making a bunch for a group order and they were so beautiful that it made my mouth water! Everything is made to order, so call ahead to have it ready for pick up when you arrive. Don't forget: cash only.
This is my first time to this hidden gem. It's not in the nicest area of Providence but I had no issues. When I entered the store front, I was surprised how small it was inside. I looked at the wall with all the pictures of there dishes and after my wife telling me what to get that's what I did. They only take cash, so I'm glad she had reminded me earlier in the afternoon. It's a small family business, Their daughter behind the counter and it looked like the father and mother prepared all the food. My wife has been telling me for the last few weeks about this place. So I got done with work a little early and went by. I ordered the spring rolls, they were excellent. Fried to perfection and they were packed with flavor. Then I got the nime chow, they as well were very tasty, the sauce was good but my wife and I like a thicker peanut sauce. I also got a couple of B.B.Q. Pork Bahn Mi sandwiches. These were very good. My only criticism is they could've definitely used more pork on the sandwich everything else, the vegetables were plentiful. Great taste for sure! I also order the Chicken and Tofu Pad Thai. When I opened the container it looked a little on the dry side. But once I mixed everything together it was delicious. All in, we will definitely be back in the near future.
Asian Bakery & fast food is a small restaurant on the busy Broad Street. It is cash only. Inside there are a few tables for 2 people, but it is mostly a take out restaurant. I came here for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. There were a group of students and a few people waiting for their orders. For main dishes, you can order Banh Mi, Curry and Rice, Pho, Stir-fried noodles, or fried rice. We placed our order and did not wait too long for the food to be ready. We ordered the BBQ Pork Banh Mi, BBQ Beef Banh Mi, and an order of spring rolls. Our total was $18.31. The Banh Mis were with cucumber, carrot, radish, onion, cilantro, and mayo with sweet and sour sauce. We made it spicy by having jalapeno added. The buns for the banh mi were fresh and not hard. Everything in the banh mi was delicious. The sauce also helped with keeping the banh mi flavored. I definitely cannot wait to come back and try their other dishes.
